The research topics focused on business administration are bundled in the Management & Controlling research group in three subject areas: Strategy, Controlling and Service Engineering.
Defining strategic success potentials and goals as well as the way to achieve them are essential for all (industrial) companies. To this end, implementation and optimization processes are developed for strategic planning and corporate alignment.
For 20 years now, research has also been conducted on modern methods/approaches to controlling. In addition to contract research projects, more than 100 scientific publications and technical papers have been published in cooperation with international networks.
Service engineering comprises the systematic development of (product-related) services with the help of engineering and business management methods.

Research interests:

  • How can companies successfully implement or optimize strategic management or strategic controlling processes?
  • How can startups strategically plan and justify their development plans?
  • How can companies systematically plan their digitization?
  • What approaches to modern budgeting do companies need to consider today?
  • What standards are emerging internationally in controlling and how can Austrian companies benefit from them?
  • What can companies take over from special controlling topics?
  • How can manufacturing companies determine the maturity of their current service offerings?
  • How can manufacturing companies expand their offering to include accompanying services?
  • What influence does digitalization have on the service sector?

Use Cases:
