New technology - even more possibilities

At the start of the new semester, the FabLab team at the Smart Production Lab in Kapfenberg was delighted to welcome a new addition to its machine park. On September 17 and 18, the new ProtoMAX waterjet cutter from OMAX was put into operation. Together with a technician from the manufacturer, the team learned about the possibilities of waterjet cutting and how to use them with the new machine. Initial designs were drawn and prepared using the manufacturer's software and then produced as workpieces. The material variety of the workpieces ranges from wood and cork to plastics and, of course, metals such as aluminum and steel in a wide variety of thicknesses. FabLab Kapfenberg offers even more possibilities with water jet cutting. The FabLab team is already looking forward to the start of the season on October 16th with many hobbyists and interested parties.
